re working....

I had some paintings laying around that I didn't much care for, so decided to use them for backgrounds for more red stuff. Also I tried doing a larger one, but it doesn't have the same energy for me.

After a week working down in Atlanta on the Turner Classic Movies set, it was nice to get back in the studio. Especially to get away from ongoing projects and broken pipes at home.

Today, though, is an early taste of spring. The birds sang sweetly as the sun spilled into my hollow this morning, and the air feels warm and welcoming in contrast to this cold week.

Happy New Year!

Well, I got home from seeing family and found my friend Roy, up in the dead red oak tree. He'd fashioned his own cable ladder, with giant bolt screws for rungs, and when he first climbed the tree, he used a modified ice skate on one foot and a cowboy boot with spikes on the other. He's quite a fabricator. Yesterday he had all the top limbs and the top section of the tree down. What will he do next? Thanks Roy!

Small beginnings...

I started these this week in Colorado while the boys were skiing. They're not finished, but I think I like where they're going...

My Christmas Present...

Seeing a bald eagle is always special to me, especially since I rarely see them in GA. After posting these pictures, I looked out and saw a great big fox bounding down toward the river, then creeping through the brush along the shores. Sorry, I didn't get a photo this time...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
